Historic Sion

September 2017. Visited the ancient city of Sion, capital of the canton of Valais, on the Rhone river in southwest Switzerland. There are 2 castles facing each other on big hills, the ruins of Tourbillon, and the fortified church Notre-Dame de Valรจre, which has the oldest playable organ in the world.

There are vineyards everywhere, in the small front yard of our airbnb, on the plateau between the 2 castles....

(Since Blogger won't allow me to format pictures and text, I am just putting all the images together, with captions, and the text at the top)
